Awana is our weekly kids program that meets on Wednesday evenings throughout the school year, September through May. We have three age groups that we cover – Cubbies (ages 3-5), Sparks (K-2nd Grade), and T& T (Truth & Training 3rd-6th Grade).
Awana stands for A Worker Approved Not Ashamed – based on the principles expressed in 2 Timothy 2:15 “Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.”
The Awana club weekly meetings includes Large Group Time, Handbook Time, and Game Time. a Large Group/Council Time, which includes Bible stories, singing, and lessons based on Christian principles. For Game Time, the kids play games designed to encourage teamwork. For Handbook Time, each participant works through their own workbook that focuses them on Bible memory verses while encouraging them to participate in activities that include missions and community service. Club members earn points and awards based on their participation and progress.
The focus is fun with a purpose. Our Cubbies play games, do crafts, and work to earn awards each evening as part of a lively experience where learning and fun go hand in hand. This program is designed to support parents as the primary leaders of spiritual development.
Kindergarten – 2nd grade
In Sparks we take our kids a step deeper into God’s Word. They will have regular opportunities to hear the gospel and consider the truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Our handbooks focus on basic truths found in the Bible about God, Jesus Christ, and salvation.
Truth & Training (T&T)
3rd- 6th Grade
Truth & Training (T&T) is focused on the truth of God’s Word and training the children to serve God in their daily lives. The T&T curriculum communicates that the ultimate adventure is a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
