New Life is committed to:

Proclaiming the TRUTH of God’s grace,
Demonstrating our LOVE for God and our neighbors,
Building a COMMUNITY of growing disciples, and
Engaging in God’s MISSION to redeem the world for His glory.

Truth + Love + Community + Mission

We are committed to the authoritative TRUTH of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

God has made us to be a “word-centered” people,[1] and designed our hearts to focus on His Son, Jesus, who is the Word of God, as revealed in the Bible.[2] We regularly gather as a body of believers in Christ with expectancy, knowing that God will speak through His word, and consequently we will hear and speak it.[3] The Gospel of Jesus Christ declares that our right-standing with God was totally paid for on our behalf by Jesus’ death on the cross at Calvary. Salvation can only be obtained through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ, His death and resurrection.[4] This truth continually changes us and influences how we worship God.[5] This means that all our acts of worship including preaching, teaching, singing, praying, fellowship, outreach, missions, and giving are guided by the instruction of God’s Word. The Bible is the revelation of God’s grace to us for our salvation, sanctification, and holiness.[6]

We LOVE God and our neighbors through obedience to the TRUTH and its proclamation.

The Triune God has demonstrated His love for us through the humble and effective sacrifice of Jesus,[7] and now we strive to love God and others with that same love.[8] The Holy Spirit motivates our commitment to sacrificially serve one another[9] through the grace-filled sharing of our joy in the truth.[10] We do this by lovingly sharing God’s truth with each other through praying for and encouraging one another;[11] exhorting one another to heed the truth found in God’s Word;[12] and demonstrating the grace of God to all people with mercy. Love is always to accompany truth. We seek to avoid doing anything without love so as not to shame the name of Jesus or cause our ministry to be fruitless and vain.[13]

We are building a COMMUNITY committed to God’s TRUTH with a desire to grow in LOVE and holiness.

God has drawn us together into Christ[14] as His body[15]. In this bond, we gather together sharing God’s gracious forgiveness.[16] We are each members of the family of God striving towards common holiness in unity, maturity, and the knowledge of Christ.[17] We build one another up,[18] confess and confront sin,[19] encourage repentance and reconciliation,[20] submit to biblical leadership,[21] and bear one another’s burdens.[22] We weep with those who grieve, and we share in each other’s joys. We look forward to the day when we will be joined with all our brothers and sisters in glory. We live now as ambassadors of Christ[23] and citizens of heaven[24], striving for peace with all.[25]

New Life is committed to proclaiming the truth of God’s grace, demonstrating our love for God and our neighbors, building a community of growing disciples, and engaging in God’s mission to redeem the world for His glory.

Jesus has brought us into the community of His Church, and there are still others that He seeks. He has commanded us to go into the world[26], seeking to find others through the proclamation of His truth to all people.[27] We seek opportunities to demonstrate the love that we have been shown through compassionate and tangible acts of mercy.[28] We strive to share this truth and love, to baptize believers, nurture them in our faith community, and equip one another to spread the grace, truth, and love of Christ to all people everywhere.[29]

John 17:17 “Sanctify them in the truth; your word is truth.”

[2] John 1:1, 14 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God…And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.”

John 14:6 “Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.’”

[3] Romans 10:14-17 “How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!” But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed what he has heard from us?” So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.”

[4] John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.”

1 Corinthians 15:3 “For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures,”

[5] John 4:23-24 “But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him. God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.”

[13] 1 Corinthians 13:1-3 “If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give away all I have, and if I deliver up my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing.”

[16] Luke 7:47 “Therefore I tell you, her sins, which are many, are forgiven—for she loved much. But he who is forgiven little, loves little.”

[17] Ephesians 4:11-16  “And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ, so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes. Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love.”

[18] 1 Thessalonians 5:11 “Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.”

But if he does not listen, take one or two others along with you, that every charge may be established by the evidence of two or three witnesses. If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church. And if he refuses to listen even to the church, let him be to you as a Gentile and a tax collector.”

Galatians 6:1 “Brothers, if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. Keep watch on yourself, lest you too be tempted.”

[21] Hebrews 13:17 “Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they are keeping watch over your souls, as those who will have to give an account. Let them do this with joy and not with groaning, for that would be of no advantage to you.”

[22] Galatians 6:2 “Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.”

[23] 2 Corinthians 5:20 Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us.

[24] Philippians 3:20 But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ

[25] Romans 12:15-18 “Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep. Live in harmony with one another. Do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly. Never be wise in your own sight. Repay no one evil for evil, but give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of all. If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all.”

[27] Matthew 28:19-20 “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

[29] Acts 2:36-39 Let all the house of Israel therefore know for certain that God has made him both Lord and Christ, this Jesus whom you crucified.” Now when they heard this they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?” And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is for you and for your children and for all who are far off, everyone whom the Lord our God calls to himself.”
