Local Missions That New Life Supports
The Summit Baptist Association is a group of churches in Summit and Medina County that cooperate together in an effort to plant churches and cooperate in local mission efforts, including disaster relief, ministry to the homeless, and collegiate ministries.
Each month New Life supports the ministry of the Martin Center in Canton by providing meals for neighborhood kids that come to play basketball there each week. The Martin Center was once a school called Martin Elementary in the Canton City School District. ChildReach Ministries purchased the building in 2011 for $1. It is now a community center with a basketball court, weight room, cafe, recording studio, computer lab, game room,and a dance studio. Executive director Terry Hunka said, “Our goal is to keep kids off the street.” The Martin Center collaborates with local ministries and non-profits to provide Christ-centered opportunities through athletics, academics, and life-applicable teaching.
Love Inc. is a movement of Christian Churches working together to show God’s love to the poor and needy.
Cups Cafe is a non-profit community cafe that provides free meals and a safe place for teens to hang out at after school.
Medina Light is a local missions effort led by Larry and Sue Jarvis that focuses on ministry to those who are incarcerated through services, Bible studies, and transitional living and mentoring.
Oaks Family Care Center is a mercy ministry within Medina County that provides support and encouragement to fathers, mothers, teens and those in crisis. They focus on helping pregnant mothers make educated life decisions concerning their children.
